It’s hard to put into words the huge and deep gratitude we have as a family towards Eton School.
My husband and father of my children died in 2004, when our girls were students at the Toddler Center.
I still remember the words that Ms. Yvonne Kogan and Ms. Diana Reynaud said to me at the funeral: “Don’t worry, we’re going to take good care of your girls.” And they did.
“Caring” for them meant a lot for their academic, social, and psychological development through the years, but a huge part of what made us feel supported and secure as a family was the school’s orphan scholarship.
Knowing that my daughters had their education 100% covered in a wonderful school that we chose, and that they wouldn’t have to switch schools or leave their friends and familiar environment, was incredibly important for their growth, their grieving process, and their academics.
The scholarship gave the three of us the chance to remain an Eton family, to meet amazing people, and to make great friends that I’m sure will be with us forever. That’s something for which we will be eternally grateful.
There are no words to give thanks for so much during so many years.

A kid in kindergarten has no idea what it means to have an orphan scholarship. It wasn’t until later in life that I came to fully appreciate was that meant for me and my mom. First and foremost, it gave me the chance to get a high-quality education. Additionally, and setting aside the academic aspect, the scholarship also allowed me to meet the people who became my best friends and with whom I lived wonderful experiences during the 14 years I spent at Eton. There are no words to describe the effect that the orphan scholarship had on my growth as a person. I am infinitely grateful for this initiative.
In 2023, Álvaro finished his double bachelor's degree in actuarial studies and financial management at ITAM and is currently a financial manager at Inventa Financial Services.

Losing my son’s father in April of 2003 was one of the hardest things I’ve had to face. I remember having a lot of doubts about what life would look like for me and Álvaro, who was five at the time. My world had collapsed, and everything was up in the air, but thanks to the association’s trust fund I was able to stop worrying about whether my son would be able to finish his schooling the way his father would’ve wanted.
I am greatly thankful for the huge help I received from the association and the school for 14 years. They allowed my son to get an excellent education that has helped him face every challenge he’s encountered in his professional and personal lives.
